Master of Public Management (MPM)/GeoGovernance-Stream: Applications welcome until July 31st 2013

The postgraduate Master of Public Management (MPM) at the University of Potsdam is a science-based and practice-oriented mid-career program designed to meet the demand for appropriately trained managerial staff in the public sector. The intensive and fulltime 12 month program starts each October.

Participants choose between three specialization streams: Public Policy and Administration (PPA), Global Public Policy (GPP) and GeoGovernance (GG).

We are particularly proud of our GeoGovernance (GG) specialization stream which provides an interdisciplinary qualification to professionals working at the interface of administrative and environmental policy. Participants benefit from our collaboration with the University's Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences and the prestigious Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). GeoGovernance aims to better integrate the results of current research on global problems such as natural hazards, climate change and sustainable resource management into policy decision making. To bridge the gap between natural and social sciences, GG has a strong interdisciplinary focus which incorporates Earth and environmental disciplines into the classic public management program. This allows students to focus parts of their studies on risks emerging from natural disasters and climate change and integrate them later into political and administrative decision-making processes.

The next program will start in October 2013. Late applications for the GeoGovernance stream are welcome until July 31 2013. Selection is based on a competitive basis.
